【Chapter 33】

୨⎯ " Hello, everyone! Today I just wanted to give a little shout-out to @Shannonie_Chan for liking my books. Though, to be more frank, I do have another reason. I wanted to promote her Seven Deadly Sins book, The Forgotten Archangel! It's really good, I promise! To be honest, the thing that I like more about it is how cute it looks! That's all, bye! ヽ(' ∇' )ノ" ⎯୧

Inside the beautifully luscious woods were most of the Seven Deadly Sins, prepared for battle. All of them had their sacred treasures securely held in their hands in case if this supposed "witch" came to defend her territory.

"Tsk, this witch better have what we're looking for or else I'll make sure to make her death slow and painful." Ban growled as he stepped over a root of a tree that protruded from the ground, clenching his Holy Staff Courechouse tightly. "You're really desperate, aren't you?" Meliodas snickered as he was in front of the group leading the way.

Ban looked down at his captain and scowled. "You're no different, captain." Ban shot back as Meliodas only shrugged. "True, but at least I'm more patient." Bending his head down as to not get his by a branch Ban frowned, "You just knocked down a tree since we still weren't in the woods yet." Meliodas laughed as he quickly stopped.

"Well, that doesn't matter anymore, we're here." Gowther announced exciting the group. "Where?!" Elizabeth yelled, running in front of the group only to be held back by Meliodas. "Looked what's in front of you, idiot." Meliodas scolded and pushed Elizabeth away as he looked down at the murky river, dead fish floating around as Elizabeth and the others covered their noses, disgust being shown clearly on their expressions.

"To be honest, I was expecting something more mystical." Little Diane commented through, her voice being muffled by her hand due to trying not to puke. "Same here." Escanor swallowed the rising vomit and looked away from the river. "It smells horrible!" Ban exclaimed, gagging.

"Captain, I think we should go back to the Boar Hat to get something to cover up our noses." Diane suggested, looking over at her captain only to see him in a trance while his eyes were set on the murky river, a content smile on his face. "Captain?" Diane said his name again, walking closer to him as she touched his shoulder only for him to give no response.

"(Y/N)..." Meliodas sighed dreamily as he began to walk inside the murky river, the fast current brushing by him at first only for it to quickly pick him up. "Sir Meliodas!" Elizabeth yelled in worry as she grabbed his arm only for her to also be picked up by the fast current. "Elizabeth!" Diane yelled her name and grabbed her shirt only for the cloth to rip making Diane fall to the ground.

"Help me!" Elizabeth yelled as she stretched her hand out towards them, but it was too late, Elizabeth was already out of view. "Good, now let's follow them." Gowther stated as he ran to where the two were heading, Ban, Diane, Escanor, and Hawks looking at one another in confusion before running after Gowther, following his lead.

"If I am correct, this "witch" makes her victims fall in a trance while they imagine their biggest desires making them go inside the fast-flowing river, dragging them towards her hut deep in the woods. What she does with them, guess we'll found out soon." Gowther stated as the others nodded.

"By the way, whatever you do, don't look at the river- Hawks!" Looking back as he heard a loud splash he saw Hawks going along with the fast current, a dreamy smile on his face. "Ban's cooking..." Hawks drawled out as saliva came down his mouth.

"No one ever listens to me!" Gowther fumed as he glared at the slowly sinking Hawks. "Shit!" Ban yelled out as a wide branch tried to hit him on the face, luckily he quickly ducked just in time. "What now?!" Diane groaned as the other three stopped.

"The fucking branch just tried to hit me is what happened!" Ban answered her in an aggressive tone as he soothed his hurting elbow. "I think this "witch" knows that we're here." Escanor smirked as a plant tried to wrap its hardened stem around Escanor's leg only for him to dodge it, stepping on it making it quickly die.

"It seems as if the whole woods is alive now..." Diane sweatdropped as a flock of birds came towards her. "Hell no!" Diane yelled as the flock of birds began to peck at her, messing up her twin-tails officially annoying her as she tried to slap them away.

Looking to his right Gowther saw about 15 trees come alive making him sigh in frustration. "We don't have time to play around with you, witch." Gowther mumbled as he summoned his sacred treasure, setting an arrow on it as he set it on a tree, letting go of the arrow as it pierced on the tree making it stop moving, and sit back down on the ground.

"Apparently, these "tree monsters" must have a spirit level of below 400. This will be easy." Gowther stated as he prepared for one of his magical sacred treasure abilities. "Ability; Range Enhancement." Gowther whispered as everything in a three-mile radius fell unconscious, though, not those with a spirit level above 400.

"Damn it!" An unknown voice yelled in aggravation, the birds that were in the outer edges of the woods quickly flying away. "Do you have any idea how hard it is for me to do an all-out attack spell like that?! It's really hard!" The unknown voice complained as the river's water level began to rise.

"No matter! I guess I'll just have to force you to look!" The unknown voice cackled as the river's water level rose from where it usually was to close to their feet. Covering his eyes Gowther faced the others who looked slightly panicked, except for Escanor. "All that we have to do is jump from tree to tree to get where the hut is, come on." Gowther stated as he jumped up towards a tree's branch, the others following soon after as Gowther lead the way.

"Only the life in a three-mile radius as failed me, so good luck!" Just as the unknown voice said that Diane was knocked off of a branch as she fell onto the river. "Just cover your eyes and try to grab onto something!" Ban suggested as he quickened his pace, not being able to stay on the same branch due to it trying to knock him off.

"I know!" Diane shouted as the others left her. Clicking her tongue, Diane tried to grab onto something only to find out, to her bad luck, that she was in the middle of the river, the river's fast current not allowing her to move around as she would please.

"Don't look, don't look- I looked." Sighing, she looked down at the river's murky water as the river's bad scent quickly disappeared as the scent of (Y/N) replaced it. "Diane..." Hearing her name being called out by the (H/C)-haired female Diane's frown quickly turned into a happy smile as she looked around only for her to find herself in the middle of a meadow, the sun high on the sky as small wisps of clouds could be seen decorating the bright blue sky, birds chirping as the passed by.

"What the...? How did I get here?" Diane asked herself, a sense of security making her senses falter. "Diane! There you are! I've been looking for you at our house but you weren't there!" A fake (Y/N) giggled as she ran to where Diane was, pulling her into a hug as (Y/N) kissed the frozen Diane's cheek.

"You had me worried, you know!" (Y/N) pulled away from the hug to look at Diane's face, a pout settling on her lips. "(Y/N)?" Diane breathed out, her eyes beginning to shine. (Y/N) chuckled, "Who else could it be, silly?"

Glancing around at her surroundings Diane yelped as she was being pulled by the hand by none other than (Y/N). "Where are we going?" Diane questioned her, staring at her (H/C) locks. Looking back at Diane the fake (Y/N) smiled.

"To our house, my wife!"

"Meliodas!" Snapping out of his trance Meliodas looked up to the fake (Y/N) as he saw her frowning at him. "That's the third time that you zoned off. Is something wrong?" (Y/N) asked him, worry lacing her tone. Meliodas smiled warmly at her. "No, I'm perfectly fine, I'm just happy to be here with you once more." Meliodas answered her making (Y/N) blush before looking away.

"You never stop with the flirting, Meli." (Y/N) sighed as she calmed down her blush making Meliodas chuckle. "How could I? We're married, I think I still have every right to play with you." Meliodas winked at her as (Y/N) laughed.

"I guess you're right." After that, the both of them ate the meal that (Y/N) made as both of them ate in comfortable silence, the birds chirped as they sat on their place near the open window, the pair far from civilization.

"You know... remember yesterday when we were talking about visiting the sea?" (Y/N) blurt out catching Meliodas' attention. "Oh...? Oh, um, yeah, I remember. What about it?" Meliodas caught himself quickly, biting down on the piece of pie on his spoon. Soothing her (H/C) locks, (Y/N) looked at him straight in the eye. "Well... yesterday, I went through my closet and I found a swimsuit that you bought me, so I was wondering-"

"Of course! If it came from me, then it must look beautiful on you! Quickly, let's go and I'll help you put it on! We're going to the beach!" Meliodas yelled in glee as he grabbed (Y/N) hand and pulled her up to the stairs leading to their shared room.

"Elizabeth? Do you mind handing me the rose seeds? They're right behind you." (Y/N) asked Elizabeth. Both of them were behind the cottage, planting new flowers. Both of them had matching hats and gardening gloves on both of their hands as they were seated down on the ground.

Looking behind her shoulder Elizabeth saw a small bag filled with rose seeds as she nodded. "Sure, (Y/N)." Grabbing the bag filled with rose seeds she handed it over towards (Y/N) as she smiled at her in thanks. "Mommy! Mommy!" Looking behind her shoulder, Elizabeth's eyes widened as she saw a small version of Elizabeth in boy form running towards (Y/N).

"Oh? Apollo, I thought that you were sleeping with Aiko?" (Y/N) asked him as little Apollo sat down on her lap as he watched his Mommy planting the rose seeds deep underground. "I was, but then I woke up and got hungry! Mommy, can you make me an apple pie? Pretty please?" Apollo asked her as he turned around to face her, his puppy eyes magic activated.

(Y/N) smiled down at him and placed down the small shovel and took off her gardening gloves, placing them down on the ground as she wrapped her arms around Apollo and got up. "Would you like to join us, darling?" (Y/N) asked her, surprising Elizabeth.

Apollo clapped his hands happily. "Yeah! I want Mom to eat with me, too!" Apollo agreed with his Mommy as he looked back at his Mom. Elizabeth placed down the sunflower seeds that she had and took off her gloves, a content smile stretching on her face. "I would love to, my love." Elizabeth chuckled as she followed the two inside.

"Bow down to the almighty Hawks!" Hawks cackled evilly as Ban did as he was told, his hand placed on top of his heart. "Yes, King Hawks." Ban obeyed as his eyes were set downcast. Hawks laughed once more as he was seated on top of a golden throne with a crown on top of his head.

"Now, go make me more food! Peasant!" Hawks ordered Ban as the male nodded, getting up and bowing, he walked away quickly. Soon after, the throne room doors opened as a large group of chiefs entered with carts, meals being covered by a cloche dome as Ban was in front of them all. Ban quickly bowed as he signaled for the other chiefs to take off the cloche as they did as they were told, the food's scent soon reaching Hawks nose as his mouth began to water.

"Food!"Hawks exclaimed as he ran out of his golden throne, his crown somehow still on top of his head as he landed on top of the food, quickly devouring it.

"This is heaven!"

"This is literal hell." Ban commented as they finally arrived in front of the hut, and it was indeed made out of the skin of demons. "It appears that there is no door... we must go through the skin of the demon, then." Escanor smirked as he stepped up to rip it apart. Grabbing a piece of the demon he ripped it off as everything quickly got ripped off, too.

"Uh? Another layer? No matter, I'll just rip it off, too." Escanor announced as he, also, ripped off that layer only for another to appear. "Are you fucking kidding me?!" Ban screamed as he fell to the floor, completely wasted from the amount of jumping he had to do.

"I don't think ripping off each layer of demon skin that appears is the right way to reveal the hut, Escanor." Gowther commented as he stepped up. "It seems that this is another magic spell, the question is; how do we break it?" Gowther mused as he began to examine the demon skin-covered hut.

"Um, sorry to break up your thinking process, but I think more plants are starting to come to life." Ban stated as plants began to come to life as they hurriedly tried to reach the group. "Without Merlin, we don't have much of a success rate to somehow get inside..." Gowther whispered as he knocked on the demon skin, though nothing happened.

"How about we go the way that everyone else went?" Escanor suggested as Ban began to hold off the alive plants. Gowther pirked up at the idea as he slowly nodded. "That might just work. The river is flowing inside the hut, through it to be more precise. So if we somehow can withstand not opening our eyes we'll be able to enter. Though anything that happens afterward is up for gamble." Gowther concluded as both Escanor and Gowther reached the edge of the river, both of them closing their eyes shut.

"Wait, hold up!" Ban yelled as he thrust his sacred treasure in one more plant life as he ran to where the other two were, closing his eyes shut as well. "On one..." Gowther began as Escanor growled at not being first.

"... two..." Escanor continued, taking a deep breath.

"... three!" Ban yelled as the group of three jumped in, the horde of plant life stopping as they stared down at the river before going back to where they were, falling back to how they once were.
